I'm the girl with the tattered dress

and the red sunglasses outside the store



do you see me?

I'm the man with no shoes

in the cardboard box all alone



do you see me?

I'm the woman with the white cane

and the seeing eye dog crossing the street



do you see me?

I'm the thug with the guns and knives

sitting on the corner waiting for you



do you see me?

I'm the little boy with no mommy

sitting on the park bench starting to cry



do you see me?

I'm the elderly woman trying to get home

with the bags of groceries and nobody to help me



do you see me?

I just want compassion

I just need some help



I just need to get by

I'm not asking that much



if you see me then why do you pass me?

why don't you give me your hand?



I don't want you to look down on me

but I do want you to look at me



for I am HUMAN and I deserve love
