There was nothing left, all you could see roaming around were huge balls of dust rolling from side to side. Not a single breath of life was to be heard between the empty space that landed ahead. There was nothing, nothing had been left after the big war. “The final war”, had took place several days ago, it was the war that everyone frighten it will happen sooner or later, the fight for survival, the fight for the remains of resources to live. But after that, everything was gone, every single living creature; gone.
Far away, you could see some movement between the bushes, probably just the wind blowing them, but it wasn’t. A small rabbit came out of them, heavy breathing and slowly walking, as if he was carrying a big stone in his back. He had been in a comma for over a week now, and he had finally woken up, he was tired and injured, but the rabbit was alive. He slowly remembered what had happened here, “the war had killed us all” he thought, “so much need of power finished with every single living thing”. These thoughts overwhelmed him with nostalgia and sadness. He had all the resources of the world for him, but this didn’t make him any much happier.
He decided to take a walk to get some fresh air, and get his mind off of all the sadness that filled him. He decided to walk into what was left of the “river” and was shocked when he saw a sea otter building a small pond with what was left of water. The rabbit walk closer to the sea otter, which still didn’t seem to notice the presence of the rabbit, and jumped in astonishment when he saw him standing right in front of him. “What are you doing here? Get off of my property, this is MY water!” The sea otter yelled at the rabbit, while grabbing a wood stick to attack the rabbit in case it was necessary. The rabbit stepped back, but he wasn’t scare, he knew the sea otter was just protecting the water that was left, he was still with “The final war” mind set. “Get off of here! Didn’t you hear what I just say! This is mine, just mine!” the sea otter yelled with so much anger on his face that the rabbit just left. There was no point in trying to talk these through, of course the only way to get through this and make the resources last was if the two united, but it didn’t seemed that the sea otter thought the same way.
The rabbit walked back to where he had woke up and decided to build a house close to a small pond he had located and start a new life. A week went by, and he hadn’t seen any signs of the sea otter around. A couple of more days past and while the rabbit was outside feeding the plants; he saw the sea otter walking towards him. He looked tired and weak; the weather had been really dry the past days. “I’m really sorry for what happened the other day”, said the sea otter, “I guess two pair of hands is better than one right?” And the rabbit just smiled and let him in.
