Once again…I preface this by saying I did not vote for Donald Trump
and my contempt for him and his administration I have not hid
but after seeing all the damage they are doing….
I have a question for those of you who did.
Our country was not perfect…as many people for so long have felt estranged…
and there were definitely many things that needed to be changed…
Democracy is not easy…it is fragile…and it is easy to criticize
It improves when citizens are informed
are patient,
are tolerant
and willing to compromise.
What do you think and feel when you look around and see
this administration abolishing people’s freedoms
and dismantling our democracy?
When you see a government that is cruel
that is quick to hate, abuse and demean…
when you see our government murder our own citizens
I wonder…is this the America of which you dream?
And all those who fought to defend our freedoms
All those who died in wars:
Do you think this Is this the country they sacrificed so much for?
Is this divided America….the America you voted for?
Looking at the anger and the cruelty…the disdain for human life…
the atrocities they are willing to commit…without justification or merit
I ask in all sincerity….
Is this the kind of world you want your children
your grandchildren
and your great-grandchildren
to inherit?
