 For years…our Christmas present to each other

has been to purchase from Lowe’s….the perfect Christmas tree

but this year we are not in Florida…our Christmas is in NC.

Which means this year our Christmas tree hunt 

had a unique and special charm….

as we met Demien, Trista and Violet 

at the Boyd Mountain Christmas Tree Farm.

Yes, this year surrounded by the mountains of NC.

Trista, Violet and Deborah picked out the perfect tree.

then from the land where Christmas trees are grown 

with Damien on the saw…we cut down a tree of our own.

It was a wonderful moment we shared together…

one in our hearts I know we’ll forever hold…

that is except for Violet who slept through it all…

as Trista protected her from the cold.

So this years present to ourselves is one we won’t forget… 

because it took place in NC

and because we shared this moment with Trista, Damien

and a sleeping Violet.

It’s funny how with each new Christmas 

we have the same mind set.

We tell ourselves this year’s Christmas tree 

is the best Christmas tree we’ve had yet.

But it’s true…this Christmas tree brings with it

all the new memories this year we’ve amassed…

which does make this year’s Christmas tree

a little better than the last.

Among all our family memories this year…

Violet is one we are overjoyed to add

which means this Christmas tree now takes its rightful place

as the best Christmas tree we’ve ever had.
