NO KINGS RALLY THE SEQUEL

We attended the No Kings Rally because

It feels, to us, that our country has lost it’s soul

as every day we are inundated with depressing events

over which we have no control.

Things our government is doing to other human beings

here and around the world…with little concern or penitence.

Things unfolding daily before our eyes…that, to us,

doesn’t make any sense.

So surrounded by a host of other people (It’s good to know we weren’t alone)

we held our posters up and waved our flags…and made our voices known….

It was a boisterous but non-violent rally…which is what we all preferred…

It’s one way in a free society…to have our voices heard.

The No Kings Rally was our way of saying…we know we are a country in distress

That there are problems here…big problems…that need to be addressed.

But we feel this heavy-handed dictatorial approach…

without regard for human rights…has led our country astray…

The No Kings Rally was our attempt to let our government know

we think there is a better way.

Before the rally with all the depressing news

We felt our country was on the edge of a slippery downhill slope…

but after seeing the turnout at the No Kings Rally

we were left with a ray of hope.

Hope that all the voices from this rally will be heard…

by powerful women and men

who will join their voices with ours

and together as one country…

we can find our soul again.
