I’m not sure anyone can explain love…even how it came to be…

It has so many sizes, shapes and forms…it’s different for every you…and every me….

The older I grow in life…the more I think love is like this light…similar to the sun…

When you see a person’s light shining…you know they are the one.

I believe everyone has a brightness inside them…a light of love they can impart…

but only certain people’s lights find their way into your heart.

And once their light has found your heart…you immediately feel its warmth…its glow…

You can hear your own heart beating…as you feel your love begin to grow.

And when they look into your eyes and smile…once their light shines in on thee

how quickly you come to realize…together you will always be.

You’re not sure where this light originates but it radiates from their center.

You notice how a room will brighten the moment that they enter. 

If you happen to take a walk in the beginning of the day…

you’re not quite sure if it’s their light…or the sun lighting the way.

Your amazed that as they walk…everywhere they go…

the plants you happen by have a tendency to glow.

And when you’re not together…when circumstances keep the two of you apart

they’ve left enough light shining behind them…to brighten up your heart.

You know if one of you should pass before the other…

if you ever reach that day

you’ll find your way to them in heaven…

for their light will lead the way.

Until then here’s a hint to help you through the night…

when sleeping next to someone whose light is oh so bright….

Yes, sleeping with the light of your life…

is not as difficult as it seems

all you have to do is smile…

say a prayer of thanks

then close your eyes…

and dream.
