He wanted to write her a love song…with a tune as beautiful as the birds

He wanted to write her a love song…with graceful and lovely words…

But he was no songwriter…he could not make music like the birds

and though he searched the depths within his heart…he could not find the words…

So his card read simply: I wanted to write you a love song…

I wanted it to be as beautiful as the birds…

I wanted to write you a love song…but I could not find the words…

I wanted to write you a love song…to celebrate our anniversary…

I wanted to write you a love song…

but all I could write was…Love, Me.

She smiled as she closed the card…and held it to her chest

realizing, once again in life…how much she has been blessed.

Oh, but you have been writing me a love song…a tune more beautiful than the birds…

the whole time we’ve been together…with your actions and your words..

and the chorus has been beautiful…as beautiful as the birds

and every day you add another verse…with the most graceful and loving of words…

Their eyes met in a smile…and immediately he was glad…

For wanting to write her a love song…not knowing he already had.
