love that's lost and then regained,

is not the love that should remain,

in your heart or in your mind,

one will always tend to find,

that once love's lost, it's lost for good,

it can't remain and nor it should,

in selfish acts we try to cling,

to love lost which was a fling,

we thought we knew our heart's,

but we only truly know the parts,

the hurting inside, which we try to hide,

won't go away, but tends to stay,

reminders of love lost,

or the love that turned to dust,

you can't hide the scars,

just like when we would stand out under the stars,

and share a tender moment
