My grandfather lotion
I can’t remember my grandfather without thinking on the aroma he always had. When I was little I used to be with my grandparents most of the time because my father and mother went to work, so I stayed with them, or sometimes my grandparents picked me up from school. Whenever I was near my grandfather he always had this strange and strong aroma, and I always kept thinking of what was that aroma I scented in those days. Then my grandfather died around 13 years ago, and I never detected that scent for a long time. I grew up never realizing that that scent was his favorite lotion. It was like a year or two ago when I realized it, that smell he always had was his lotion, because one time my grandmother called me in order to give me a lotion. When she gave it to me I still didn’t knew it was my grandfather favorite lotion, until I opened it and smelled it. When I smelled it I realized that the strange and strong aroma that was always near my grandfather was his favorite lotion. I remember now, that lotion in a way represents him in a certain way, because he always had it on. My grandfather was always nicely dressed, with tie and a tuxedo almost every day of the week, and always with his lotion on. He didn’t put on any other lotion in the world, just that one. There was no day or no excuse for not having his lotion on. It didn’t matter if it was a family day, work day, a trip, or just any normal day he always had it on him. That lotion still is very special for him now a day because it was a part of him, he would never go out without his lotion. Today I keep that lotion with me because it reminds me of him every time I see it. I just use it in special occasions which are not very often because it is a honor for me to have his special lotion in good condition, because he will be happy if he saw his favorite lotion there. It is also a honor for me to have it and use it because no one other of my cousins have it, it is only me. It makes me happy to know I use and keep his special lotion.
