SMRT Bus Corporation

Founded in March 2000, SMRT is the most preferred Bus Operator in Singapore. In addition to normal buses, it also offers premium bus services and shuttle bus rides on some limited routes. SMRT Buses were earlier popular as Trans Island Bus Services. The bus operator stands true to its Company slogan “Moving people and enhancing lives”. SMRT approximately completes about 1 million rides in a year. It is the only operator with articulated buses in the whole of Singapore. The SMRT fleet comprises of MAN NL 323F, Gemilang Coach Works and Mercedes Benz 0405G, Volvo B9TL. SMRT is mainly responsible of catering to north and northwest areas of Singapore. In addition, to all the above buses in their fleet, SMRT also has a couple of mini buses, which provide premium and chartered bus services to its tourists.

Tower Transit

Newly launched in Singapore, these buses have created a competitive spirit amongst the Bus Operators in Singapore. It serves around 26 bus routes and has the following models in its fleet.

SBS Transit

One of the biggest bus operators in Singapore, SBS Transit has a fleet of around 3500 buses and 260 services to choose from. Founded in November of 2001, it is a multi-modal bus operator. The fleet of SBS comprises of Volvo B9TL Double Decker along with Scania K230UB and Mercedez Benz Citaro. All of the above buses depart from the Depot of the Operator. SBS is famous for its extensive bus network. It has always invested in futurustic technology and looks forward to train and upgrae its staff to extend the best of services to its commuters and tourists. Currently, SBS owns seventy-five percent of the market share of buses in Singapore. It has some of the world’s largest depots. Buses from SBS are wheel chair accessible.

Go Ahead Singapore

This is the fourth and the largest Bus Operator in Singapore. Launched in the year 1987, Go Ahead Singapore serves about twenty-five bus routes.
