the full moon splashes light on the open sky
shimmering off the ocean like a crying eye
as the sea wails and smashes up against the rocks
time passes from the sound of a grandfather clock
buried deep in a cave way below the surface
are hearts and souls for the ocean to save
but like a wish to aphrodite not all is what it may seem
you can hope and you can dream
on the top of your lungs you can scream
but under the ocean it's dark and cold
not a place for safe keeping of your inner emotional mold
it may drown out your sorrow but your words as well
as the darkness and fear begins to swell
the salt of your tears fill up the ocean
as your lost and forgotten with the earth's motion
