The world will never change,
We’ve let them climb too high,
It’s sad and it’s strange,
How no-one even seems to try
There’s discord and despair,
Dreams that turn to dust,
Anguish everywhere,
Hope corroded by rust,
There are men at the top,
Sat in their ivory tower,
Not caring how far we drop,
As long as they keep their power,
They watch with greedy eyes,
Their hearts long frozen cold,
Swathed in the cloth of lies,
Caring only for themselves and their gold,
Maybe we could have stopped them,
Could’ve controlled our own lives
Not left the doors wide open,
For the greedy to attain such heights,
The world will never change,
People will never learn,
It’s sad and it’s strange,
It’s a leaf we’ll never turn.
