+ 1ST ORTHODOX POEMS: Prayer In Thanksgiving For Salvation

The Cross of the death I deserved has been by Jesus carried

outside the city, and carried safely away

from my soul.  Then, having died He was buried

in a borrowed tomb:   but upon the Third and Glorious Day,

Glorious Pascha, He rose, walked from it, and left it emptily

gaping.  Now the accumulation of sin and all that perfidy

shall not wrest me from His grasp, nor impose damnation

on me; nor disrupt my enjoyment of Salvation.
