+ 1ST ORTHODOX POEMS: Prayer In Thanksgiving For Salvation [Repost]

The Cross of the death I deserved has been carried

by Jesus outside the city, and He carried it safely away

from my soul.  Then, having died on it, He was buried

in a borrowed tomb:   but upon the Third and Glorious Day,

Glorious Pascha, He rose, walked from that tomb, leaving it emptily

gaping.  Now, the accumulation of sin and all my sordid perfidy

shall not wrest me from His grasp, nor impose damnation

on me; nor disrupt my enjoyment of Salvation,

along with the bonus blessiing---a new handle and screen name installed,

which acknowledges several Scriptures (and I sign it here . . . J-Called).

Author's Notes/Comments:

The poem alludes to several Scriptures:  Hebrews 13:12, John 10:28, and Habakkuk 3:18.

The last line alludes to other Scriptures:  Romans 10:13, and from the LXX, 2 Samuel 12:24-25, Psalm 118:5, Isaiah 43:1, Joel 2:32 and Baruch 3:34.
