+ 9TH POEMS: Δόξα τῷ Θεῷ πάντων ἕνεκεν!

I say, with Chrysostom, Glory to God for all things:

even for my disabled legs and the pain in my side.

No matter how I am tortured by this affliction's stings,

it cannot alter the promise and hope in which I abide;

the promise and hope that are like a habitation

which cannot be assailed by sin and its temptation,

but keeps me spiritually safe for my earthly life's duration.

Beyond time and space, and not beholden to calendars and clocks,

its access is by Faith alone, the Faith that is Orthodox.

Author's Notes/Comments:

The Greek title is translated in the first line.

The fifth line alludes to LXX Psalm 106:7.
