I am not entirely sure quite how to put
these words: performing in Birmingham, barefoot
(with Culture Club's others, who retained their shoes):
you were, on stage in shoelessness, so beautiful,
that none sought to recognize, in you, the spiritual---
that was, perhaps, part of the prejudiced abuse.
