When God created the world, only lions lived upon it. In the lions’ kingdom, they subsisted on a diet consisting of only plants. They lived peacefully for a long time, but as time went by they grew tired of each other and started turning against one another. Slowly they began killing themselves until only 2 lions named Kalucha and Chatu remained standing on the face of the earth. Kalucha was a male lion and Chatu was a lioness, but they both despised each other. “So are you going to kill the last opportunity to save our species?” said Kalucha. “Most likely, your arrogance and pride have made you a despicable lion” replied Chatu. They both stared at each other straight in the eye, and after 10 days of arguing and complaining, Kalucha finally gave in, “You know what you selfish lioness? I’m neither fighting you nor mating with you, I’m going to kill myself and you will have to learn to appreciate the company of someone who is your family and species”. After he said this he went onto an edge and jumped into the abyss. Chatu began feeling lonely the second she heard the thump of Kalucha’s body. She cried day and night and couldn’t sleep. The emptiness she felt inside of her was killing her slowly and after weeks of sadness and loneliness, God felt compassion for Chatu and created many other animals, like antelopes and zebras, for her to coexist with. However, the moment Chatu saw them, she felt the need to hunt. She didn’t know what was happening to her, after being used to subsisting entirely on plants, she couldn’t understand why she felt the urge to hunt. And so she began hunting, becoming a carnivore and leaving in the past the herbivore diet. Yet, even though there were other animals in the planet, she still felt lonely with no company from someone of her same species. Finally God created other lions and lionesses for Chatu to live with and she was overwhelmed with joy when she saw them. They formed a pride of 10 lions, 5 males and 5 females, and Chatu taught the lionesses to hunt, hence the female lions became responsible for the majority of the hunting. Eventually, they formed couples among the group and Chatu ended up with Rache. Never had Chatu appreciated more the company of other animals from her species. From now on, all of the lions lived in harmony and respected and valued one another. As time went by, God introduced more animals, and ultimately mankind, into what was once the lion’s kingdom.
