i searched your eyes for answers to questions i lost long ago

but only found searing pain staring back at me.

we've lost our innocence and replaced it with fear.

your heart beats matching the pace of my own

and together we lose ourselves searching for ideals.

we've set our path and yet chosen to stray

allowing the thorns and branches to rip at our soul.

they say tomorrow is another day but i fail to see the comfort.

one more day of sorrow and failures.

one more day of agony and angst.

hope is the desire for tomorrow to never come.

so once again i search your eyes but still they're filled with pain.

i guess that i shall never know the answers which i seek.

instead i'll lay here silently and watch as days go by.
