I am nobody
And nobody is everyone
Who is to say that I am somebody besides me?
Or that I’m not
Somebody can be anybody
And anybody can be somebody
Nobody can be somebody
And somebody can be nobody
Somebody can be like a lamp
Motionless, unseen until they want to
Sitting quietly in the corner
Silent, sensual, seamlessly sitting, staring at the world
They are cold and distant, dark and hard
Not soft to the touch but cold porcelain
Breakable if handled to rough
But sturdy enough to sit on the counter by itself
No sound, no movement
Only the soft hum of existence
A faint smell of lilacs
Slinking silently around the room
Someone who thinks they are nobody
Thinks this way by choice
They may really be somebody to someone
Just not to themselves
Unseen
Untouched
Unmoved
Unnoticed
