We sat on the field with everybody there
We held hands like they weren't there
He smiled and he watched me
He made me feel safe
The boy I loved
And let go of so easily
The boy who told me he loved me
He cheered me up in my dark times
He didn't give up on me
Until he met her
I wish I never said goodbye
I let go of him too easily
Now he's sitting over there
Holding hands with her
Telling her he loves her
A smile on his face
Glancing over at me
He knows I'm watching
Jealousy in my face
The boy I love loves her now
And boy do I wish it wasn't true
But I guess it's too late for that now
Because he's with HER
I wish it could be me
Sitting with him on that bench
Looking in my eyes
And making me feel safe
I wish I wasn't alone
I wish I wasn't sad
I want him back so much
Why did I let him go
I want to be in his arms
And him to hold me tight
To never let me go
And for me to do the same
I would never let him go

When he's over there with her

I'll never be like her

But that's all changed now

So I guess this is goodbye
