Once upon a rose
was planted
a trellis so devine
held this heart of mine.

An arbor oh so safe
one she could cling to
life was sublime
once upon a time.

Her petals began to open
revealing all her beauty
such a lovely lady
adored, she stood tall.

One day a stranger came
desiring for his garden
picking at her petals
the flower of his heart.

One by one they fell
leaving her heart naked
sad and alone
returning to her home.

one she could cling to
life was so sublime
once upon a time.
