Life in a Nutshell

MY EYES THEY OPEN,BEHOLDING LIGHT

YET STILL EMBRACING SHADOW.

I ACCEPT WHAT ONCE WAS KEPT FROM SIGHT

SADDENED WHILE IN HAPPINESS, MUCH LIKE THE WEEPING WILLOW.

SLOW I STEP ACROSS THE EARTH

AS TEARS OF JOY STREAM DOWN MY FACE

AND KNOW I'LL BE CAST BACK TO HEARTH

WITHIN THE DARKNESS' FIREPLACE.

I SOON SET FREE A BOUNDING SMILE

FROM THE TORMENT WHICH HOLDS TRUE.

MY WORLD OF DARKNESS HATH GONE BRIGHT

AND I AM READY TO START ANEW.

THROUGH THE YEARS MY AGES LEAVE

AND I REVERENTLY LIVE THEM.

MY HEART,IT GIVES ONE LAST DRY HEAVE

MY EYES THEY STIR AND THEN I CLOSE THEM.

tHOSE WHO READ THIS,DON'T BE TORN

AND LIVE AS THOUGH I'M LYING,

FOR "FROM THE MOMENT WE ARE BORN,SI THE MOMENT WE START DIEING."

LIVE YOUR LIFE, SPARE NOT A MOMENT

BUT SEEK IT AND HOLD TO.

DONT PASS A CHANCE TO CONFESS A LOVE

FOR THE COLOR BLACK IS NOT DEEP BLUE.

ENOUGH IN LIFE IS NEVER ENOUGH

IT WONT BE SPARED OR CHANGED, NOR WAIT FOR YOU.

Author's Notes/Comments:

One of my less dark poems. Gives hope of Life and explanation that you mustn't waste a moment of your life.
