As I waited for the light
I knew I’d find comfort
Though I didn’t know why
I tried to be tired
I tried to dream to sleep
But nothing worked
I was woke on my feet
I had not the energy
To do anything
My mind was so restless
I let it move me
I don’t know what happens
When the light shines though
When the world is awake
I can sleep true
Someone told me
All you need is a man
But I don’t know if that’s the answer
For love is never planned
Get it down on paper
Release it from your mind
I don’t know why I can’t sleep
As my fingers read my mind
The dawn will soon be here
Its damn near five
I guess I’ll just give up
And sleep in the light
