The End of the World (Fable)
“A Fable about the end of the Mother Earth”
The Earth was destroyed. There were no plants or trees in the forest or jungles; they looked like if they were desserts. The lakes and rivers were dried; they don’t have a single drop of water. The oceans were polluted with oil and all the fish and sea animals were dead. The sun wasn’t yellow and bright any more, it was black and it didn’t shine no more. There were no days, just nights. From a hole in the earth, a small gray mouse came out to the surface of the dried and living less surface of the Earth. He was very confused, he just woke up from his hibernation and he saw that everything was destroyed and collapsed. He believed that he was the only animal that had survived to that catastrophe. After hour of walking through the rubbish, he found an owl. At the beginning when he saw the owl, he thought that the owl will eat him. After some minutes of thinking what could happen to him, he decided to ask him what happened to Mother Earth. The owl could not believe that there was someone else living, since he had been searching for his family or a living creature for days.
What happened? Where is everybody else? The mouse asks
This is what happens when we don’t care about each other, only for our species. The owl answers
The mouse didn’t understand what the owl was trying to tell him. He was confused so he asked again.
What? Where all the mice? And your family?
The owl explained that the entire animals just see for the good of their species and they were intolerant between them, they never wanted to work for a common benefit. One day a big earthquake hit the ground of the earth and a hurricane made destruction in the ocean and all the sea living. The entire animals were very selfish to help and work together with other species to save the Earth. They tried to solve the problem by working on their own. The result is this one, we don’t a home anymore and we don’t have a family. I think that the problem couldn’t be so big and had a solution if we worked all together as if we were one species. I believed that you brother mouse and I could start from 0 and tried to save what is left from our Earth, working as a team and taking care of each other like if we were from the same family.
Lesson: Learn to work in teams with others.
