A touch of nostalgic fluff
Dusting ashes of yesteryears
When life was hard
And time was pressing
Depression hit; economy turned rut.
What remains were frustrations;
Goals were unattained;
The place of success
Was nowhere around;
Lost and disoriented.
Hard climb it was
Uphill, downhill;
Fortune wasn’t smiling
Nor the sun shining;
Afar, the horizon blinkered.
The gleam of hope rose;
Perseverance persisted;
Sweat beads of long toils
Left the marrow dry;
Eschew adversity, let flow the dreams.
