Squeeze

I used to pen
in wider lines
because my thoughts
never seemed to end.
So I forced the confines
upon myself
and started writing
on little office notepads;
width-restricting, so I woul
dn't have a choice
but to shorten
my muse.

But now
that the walls
have been re-widened
I still find myself
playing in only the
corner
of the room,
hiding from the girth
because now -
thanks to that
narrowing lesson -
my poems look
vertically longer
and the line count
is
so
damn
impressive.
