No matter how hard I try

I can no longer deny

The fact that it is killing me inside

Even though our love is lost and the fire has died,

I still need you in my life

I need your friendship

I need your support

I need you by my side

If I am ever going to cope

I need your caring arms to hold me up

Without them I am too weak to stand

It may be wrong,

It does not have to be right

But I still need you in my life
