Surprise!
I woke up this morning to a bright and sunny day,
Wondering what was planned for us to do today.
Then I heard a noise, soft and quiet at first,
And in that single moment, I thought my heart would burst.
I flew into the kitchen, but no one was in sight,
And for that very reason, I felt a chill of fright.
The air was cold that morning and I knew something was wrong,
I couldn't even focus on a single radio song.
Then I heard someone yell "Surprise!",
And a thousand tears fell from my eyes.
In all this confusion, I had forgotten it was my birthday.
