Because in doing so,
You only shine a spotlight
On your sins.
The path to salvation
Is not an easy one;
There is no pyramid scheme
That gets you into the kingdom.
Walking in the Lord
Is a full-body experience,
Every day following Him
And leading others to Him.
There is no open sesame
At the pearly gates;
No word can get you in,
Only constant obedience.
You submit to Jesus’ teachings
By bending down
And washing heathen’s feet
And teaching them the truth.
