I am sorry that

I treated you

Like my own

Personal conquest

And I used you to boost

My own confidence

But all I did was see

How I am such

An ugly person inside.  



I am sorry that

I held your flaws

Up to a magnifying glass

In a stubborn attempt

To diminish my own

Imperfections

When all I did

Was see my reflection

More clearly.



I am sorry that

In my own

Self-righteousness

I thought I was

Better than you

But all I did was

Remove the blinders

And reveal my own

Inferiority complex.



I am sorry that

In all my cruelty

I tried to hurt you

By using all

You had given me

Against you

But in the end

I only ended up

Hurting myself.



But most of all

I am sorry that

My apologies

No matter how sincere

Will never be enough.
