You can talk about

a more caring, sharing world

but I don’t know

how realistic that is

can we make this

a much better world?

Or are we destined

to fall on our faces again?

all the real questions

are yet unanswered

we seek out gurus

or high priests of reality

none of them know

what they want to be

they just settle for

whatever they are

and I can’t speak

for anyone other than myself

though I do occasionally

get out of line

I speak up and talk

voicing a wrong opinion

as if there even is

such a thing as that

guess a new Krishna

or an ice cold beer

but something’s gotta

pull me from this funk
