No wonder

I can’t write

when muscles ache

and glycogen is burned

intensely

and too many thoughts

turn

to workplace politics

somehow

I got voted out

of office

before Election Day

and dim chances

present themselves

I’ve never claimed

to be Atlas

and the weight is too great

burn a few

more calories

with the weight

then drink a beer

see if

any of it

ever adds up
