My grandmother is old but has a young spirit inside her, she’s always singing and laughing and wants to do things that the doctors have banned from her. She loves traveling, she has visited almost every country of the world from India to Europe and from Europe to Africa, and she has been everywhere. She goes there with her friends and family and the only possession that she takes everywhere is a beautiful gold locket in the form of a heart that falls from her neck. My grandmother is a widow; she lost her husband very soon and in an unexpected way, at that time they didn’t knew cigarettes were that bad for health. When she lost her husband she felt sad so her daughters gave that locket to her. Now that locket brings memories to my grandmother she opens it and see him while she has a big smile in her face, she says she doesn’t feel that lonely thanks to the locket because she feels that her husband is with her. The locket is almost like a family member, almost like a real person it can even have a real name or something like that because it has been around for a very long time now, it has met every one of the grandsons and granddaughters that my grandfather never really got to meet. It’s funny how a locket that contains the picture of someone can be compared to that someone. The locket is a treasure for my grandmother; she really values it a lot and sees the picture of my grandfather very often. There could be a fire in her house and if the locket happened to be inside it I wouldn’t be surprised if she risked her life for the only treasure she cares about. I like the way my grandmother is and I do think that she loves too much that locket, but everyone has a possession that they care a lot about and I understand that the locket is something very precious for her, the locket gives her light and hope, joy and sadness all at the same time it gives to her lots of mixed feelings in a short period of time but is something that helps her to remember her husband. The locket has contained the same pictures for a lot of years, it’s been the same since her daughters gave it to her, and I have never asked my grandmother why she has never changed it.
