When I awake
I’m in the nightmare
Of realization
That my dream is gone.
Snapped out of it,
Why couldn’t I keep
Dreaming?
Where nothing dies,
And the weather right,
No matter the season,
Laugh that carries life.
I scribble it down,
Put into a frame,
Desperately
Trying to remember.
Don’t let it crumple,
It’ll never be
Perfect again.
Won’t you say,
Please, I can sleep
Again and
Dream.
Don’t leave me,
My perfect dream,
You’re fading away,
And I’m in this
Waking nightmare.
All my maladies
Are no more
If only
I could restore
My dream.
