Shaking from within my core
Curled up, sobbing on the floor
A mess of a child
Never a woman
Not a proper woman
Never will I be
Never can I
Lifting myself off the floor
Instead, tumbling down again
Never will you see me
As a human being
Not your daughter
Not your play toy
But who I am
Instead you will continue
To bury your head in the sand
My life was in your hands
A young child
An adult
A person of my own
Left to pick up the pieces
Never may you call yourself
"Mother" to me again
