My army man lives far away,
all discipline, deep voice, and dangerous amounts of control through a tiny little phone screen.
somehow a single look from him on video call or through pictures can make my entire attitude disappear faster than I’ll ever admit out loud.
He calls them “punishments”like he doesn’t secretly enjoy watching me turn shy and flustered trying not to smile too hard.
the way he looks at me sometimes should probably be classified as a weapon.
I act bratty on purpose sometimes. Tiny little tests. Playful teasing. Smart comments I know that will earn me that look.
The one that makes my heartbeat trip over itself like it forgot how to function properly.
Meanwhile he’s somewhere overseas being all calm and military composed, while I’m over here kicking my feet after calls or certain tones and replaying moments in my head like an absolute menace.
But there’s something addictive about knowing a man that far away can still make me blush, make me nervous, make me melt with just his voice or text
So maybe I’ll keep being a little difficult. Maybe I like the attention too much. Maybe I like being his favorite distraction while he’s away.
And maybe—just maybe—I love the way my tough soldier man can make my heart skip beats without ever even touching me.
