Don’t put on the broken record

Of our song that once lived

Broke in sorrow and confusion

Around and around it spins

Not as smooth as it was

Never will be till we right the wrong

I’m hoping to fix it one day

So I can hear our song

The happiest song of you and me

It played for so long in time

But it dropped right on us without us knowing

And that’s when we lost our rhyme

The rhyme that made our song

The melody we had

Now it went from a happy song

Down to being sad

But it’s still worth something

If you’re willing to make a guess

I think that our song of love

Is nothing but priceless

I’ll wait for you to fix it first

So I know you really care

For if you didn’t care at all

This song we wouldn’t share

My record will play on broken

Waiting for your rhyme to begin

So it can join me in this melody

And love’s what we’ll be in
