The doctor said “I’ve done all I can, now the rest is in god’s hands and I’m sorry, I don’t think she’ll make it through the night”.  As he turned around and walked away I fell to my knees and started to to pray, please don’t take my world from me tonight.  While I watch her lay helplessly in bed, scenes from our life flash through my head, like the day we met, it was love at first sight. I began to cry, tears flowed from my eyes, was this our last goodbye?  If you can hear my voice stay with me, never give up the fight, don’t go into the light, ‘cause…I live for your love, the warmth of your embrace, when I’m feeling sad, you put a smile on my face. I just want you to know, no one could take your place, you can’t be replaced, and I’ll stay by your side ‘til the morning sun rise, to watch you open those beautiful eyes.  Everything will be all right, just keep up the fight, don’t go into the light.

I wiped a tear from my eye, not willing to accept what I could not deny, refusing to believe that this is how it will end.  As precious time steals your final hours I look to the sky and cry out to a higher power, please don’t take my love, my best friend.  I would trade places for you to have a tomorrow, to end all your pain and your sorrow, for a second chance to start over again. This is not how it was suppose to be, for this was the day I would ask you to marry me, now if my broken heart will ever mend, you must keep up the fight, don’t go into the light, ‘cause…I live for your love, the warmth of your embrace, when I’m feeling sad, you put a smile on my face. Last night the angels came, they took her away, but I know someday, I’ll see you again when my lonely life ends, and it’s my time, my turn, I’ll go into the light.
