Like a Phoenix

Three thousand days imprisoned,

Forgotten and abandoned;

In a place no one could name,

A burning room engulfed in flame.

Dry as a desert starved of rain,

Lost in a fire I could not contain;

Day and night, I stayed forsaken,

Unseen, untouched, yet unshaken.

But someday I will be free,

Free from confinement and defeat;

And someday I will rise again,

From ashes... reborn, a phoenix.
