A rainy evening and instead of the hills,
I am constrained to be at work,
Pit-pat drops on the window sills,
How I long to enjoy the mirth!
A friend has touched the chords of my heart,
With her understanding, kindness and care,
Signs of God's mercy come to share a part,
Of generosity divine and benevolence rare.
Even though at work I can feel a rainbow,
Illuminating a secluded chamber of my heart,
This friend comes straight like a vow,
Made by the souls when the bodies were apart.
Let it rain and let the showers descend,
Let me be happy and forget all pain,
A friend I have gained so let me ascend,
To a higher dimension -- O, let it rain!
