TRAVAILS OF A MAN WHEN HIS BELOVED IS ABSENT

Same gray sky

For centuries stares

What an evening for a heart

That is without the one it loves!

Fie on you O ye men and women

Who waste money at gambling dens

And your chastity in the beds of strangers!

I miss my friends

They are all scattered worldwide

O God! Tell me please

In whom I must confide?

My lovely lady is not beside me...

Can't You see?

How to reach the tavern's doors

When my footsteps do not support me?

O God of mine do help me out

And take me to the wine-haven

Where my beloved lady with her beautiful gaze

And most assuring poised ways

Make night enter day in no time

And make me lose myself in wine...
