CHOOSING

To choose becomes difficult sometimes,

As difficult as the dark clouds hovering,

Trying to shed raindrops in June;

As difficult as leaving a loved one,

After a long time spent together;

As difficult as watching the moon,

In unfriendly stormy weather...

As difficult as for a fragrant rose,

Trying to avoid a starving bee;

As difficult as refraining to look,

At a gaze from beautiful emerald eyes...

As difficult as forcing a smile,

From a heart laden heavy with grief;

As difficult as controlling,

The tears that overwhelm reprieve.

As difficult as sadly accepting,

That youth and age have finally merged;

To look at oneself in the mirror and laugh

At the revelation that makes one look absurd.

In short it is difficult indeed obtruse

When the choice too becomes hard to choose.
