ONLY HE KNOWS
Adam and Eve, what did they lack,
To have fallen prey to the evil one,
The universe was theirs, to own,
God's own Light on them shone.
What didn't Satan enjoy,
What greatness he did not have,
What made him disobey his Lord,
Beside whom he had none.
Did not God know the haughty one,
Was not he created by Him?
Could he have dared to say 'no';
If permission were not given to him?
Did not God create Adam,
And then gave him his Eve,
Couldn't he have known their weaknesses,
Was Satan's plot hidden from Him?
It is all part of God's own plan,
We can't comprehend every thing;
Why things happen, why they don't,
Only He knows about all these things.
