The Worst Loss

The worst loss

By Elvira Gutiérrez and Roberto de Leon

Once upon a time there was a planet full of life. All kinds of animals existed, Dinosaurs, whales, polar bears, lions, rabbits, cat dogs, zebras, snakes, and every specie you can imagine, Every one lived life the fullest. The biggest specie on earth was the dinosaur. All the animals lived in harmony.

Suddenly, when all seemed to be fine, a fear sound filled the air. The animals were afraid and ran to get a shelter. While they were running, the ground started to open. Everyone tried to jump and dodge the holes in the ground. Everything was crazy many sounds were heard. In an instant, the sky turned gray. The animals were shocked and confused, they were not used to this kinds of phenomenon. They also were worried about their families but the disaster didn’t five them time to say goodbye for the last time. Suddenly the phase of the earth was changed. There was disaster everywhere. The power of the nature destroyed all the grassland and the surroundings. There were trees fallen, fire, huge holes in the ground, rain magma emerging from the earth cracks. Wherever you say there was destruction. Birds maintained their flight, unfortunately, for the ones of the ground death was beside them.

All the animals fell into the earth wells; they all fall unconscious until the disaster ended. There was no time to attack each other. Every animal was tired and sick. Some died and some survived. When they woke up they discovered they were trapped. All the animals were trapped including the dinosaurs. Days passed by and they were dying by the lack of water and food, until one brightly day someone discovered them.

A group of young and strong hunters helped as many animals as they could. They released them and gave them water. At least one of each species was rescued but not the dinosaurs. They were enormous that it was impossible to help them; all were buried in the earth. The dinosaurs died one by one. Some died of starvation, some of sickness. The earth was filled with cries of dinosaurs but there was no way to help. Not even one was saved. Humanity was in depression because they lost dinosaurs forever. And the only memory about them is their remains buried in the ground. After all, the other animal species saw that life could end at any moment and so that not everything is beautiful so they started to enjoy life the fullest.
