Mermaids

She carries the ocean softly in her eyes,

a shimmer like moonlight stitched into blue.

When she smiles, the tide forgets its place,

and the world feels briefly new.

She believes in mermaids—not as myths,

but as secrets the sea keeps warm.

She listens for them in crashing waves,

in salt-kissed air before a storm.

Shells line her pockets, dreams line her heart,

each one polished by belief.

She knows magic survives in quiet places,

far beyond doubt and disbelief.

At night she hums with the rhythm of tides,

hair spilling like seafoam curls.

Even the stars lean closer to watch

this beautiful, mermaid-loving girl.
