Pushing Forward
A burden has lifted.
A door has been opened
and a new light has been lit.
The chains holding me back
were broken
My mind pulled
and they gave way
No more will worry and doubt cloud my mind
Freedom has shown its beautiful face
And given me a place to ride in tandem
and I graciously accept
This new chance
This new leaf
This new life
I breathe in
The freshness is almost overwhelming
But damn welcome
And I care not for the staleness of the past
I care only for the new scent on the breeze
The one leading me forward
Out of the darkness
The ever dire existence that was me
has been renewed
And forever will I be
Pushing forward
