A piece of relief
A memory, a dream
Spoke through smokey thought
Curled up like fetal warmth
I wish time
Rushing with all its depth
Would hit me like a wall
Like some spiritual, unrealistic call
I wish mouths would shut
And eyes would open wide
For fear and for night
To listen to the sound of still
But black isn't enough
To tear the smirk off your face
The tide shatters against us now
Breaking emptily on our hearts
