Saw you last night
you were sleeping in my mind
lying there beside me
I savored your smell
as if it were a fine wine
Listened to you breath
for hours while the nights rain
echoed the sound
on the roof
of your heart beating
I could almost hear the blood,
running through your veins
while the night wisp caressed
your face
I looked at you sleeping
picture of innocence
peace and contentment
I could live forever
with you beside me
in this place
As I slowly reached out
for your touch
I awoke in a cold cold sweat
for in my mind twas only a dream
into the pillow I wept
the tears flowed
as I listened to the rain
splash upon my face
and as I thought of you
I faded to blue
awake, alone, without you,
in this cold...cold...place
