Once upon a time
there lived a lovely girl
raised on fairy tales
and dreams of happily ever after

The girl grew up a lovely lass
waited for her dreams to come to pass
Alas, she found out, this dreaming girl
life was like a shattered pearl

Disillusioned and oh so very sad
wondering why girls were fed such lies
different dreams she now had
Set out now to make a good life
not caring if she ever became a wife

She worked & she toiled
refusing to let her dreams become foiled
She made a good life, was very happy
thinking fairy tales were truly sappy

then one day a man came along,
oh so handsome & so strong
how easily he won her heart
telling her he loved her & they would never part

She gave up all her dreams
without a backward glance
happy to have her chance
at old dreams of love & romance

Will fairy tales come true
will she be forever happy
or become forever blue

Now you & I - we both know
you dont give up your dreams
for a girl or a fellow
for if you do it will come to pass
you'll want to kick your own ass!
