I had a dream last night 

A glimpse of what we used to be 

The scar on my heart started to thrum

It never really healed 

I teared a bit and sat up straight 

I noticed that the hour was late 

And I thought of you again

We used to love each other, we used to have it all

We stood too close to the edge and it all began to fall

All our dreams and hopes together, they never found a way 

To come back to us lovers, it all ended in day

It all faded like the sun on a rainy day 

I lost my soul and all I am the night you walked away 

Everything I’ve ever known has changed 

If only we held on maybe? No, I can’t think that way 

All the fairytales of yesterday shattered by the wind

And now the river flows with the tears that I have shed
